Blasto Walkthrough
Episode 1: Uranian Spaceport:
Before you head off into the level, turn around and find the first map tile behind the
starting point. Now you're ready. Follow the path and take out the first two Pear Troops.
Keep it moving on the floating silver tiles or they will fall right out from under you.
Also take note of the babe on the floating island to the right - you'll be back for her
once you get the jetpack. The #2 tube here is locked, so head left.
Shoot out all three of the monitors on the platform for a power-up, and continue along.
Activate the switch to slow down the smashing machine and carefully run under it when the
time is right. Hit the map tile on your left and continue along to find your first
imprisoned babe. Take the moving tile over and activate the switch to free her, then
return for your extra life and kiss. Now cross the silver tiles nearby for another switch
to open that #2 tube from earlier. Head back and take it down.
You can save your game at the end of the platform here, then hop on the moving platform
and take it down. Find the map tile to your right (skip the "Do Not Press"
button - it kills you instantly) and head back to the large crates. Shoot the red crates
to blow them out of the way, then climb on the bluish ones and hop up the three bouncy
tiles to some more boxes. Push the green box into the blue box and use it to climb your
way up.
Across the three silver tiles you'll find some more enemies - take care of them and hit
the switch to open the door. Before you continue, grab the hidden invincibility behind the
wall, then go through the door, but do not go into the exit yet - at least not if you want
to rescue that other poor babe. Instead, kill all the bad guys, grab the health that
appears on the rock, and head back the way you came. On the rock back by the green and
blue crates there's now a jetpack. Grab it, and now you can fly back to that babe on the
island you saw earlier in the level. Once you rescue her, you've completed the first
level. Head back to the exit and take it.
Episode 2: Uranian Spaceport:
You start this level at the middle of a four-way intersection, but the tubes labeled 1, 2,
and 3 are locked so there is only one way you can go - towards the green crates. Climb
them and take care of the bad guys at the top. Flip the switch to start the tube of
platforms rolling, then carefully make your way across it. On the other side are two small
rooms across from one another - you'll find a map tile and a switch to open door #1. Hit
them both and check in at the save point nearby. Make a mental note of the exit here and
return to the intersection you started at to go down the now open tube #1.
Tube #1:
Straight ahead is your first jailed babe - go up to take a look at her and clear out some
enemies. Now head left to open her cell and continue on and around to find the switch for
door #2 and some other power-ups. Say hi to the babe before leaving for your extra lives,
then go back up to the intersection and down tube #2.
Tube #2:
Look closely behind the rocks to the right just after you come down the tube - hidden
goodies! There's more though, jump on the tile and bounce your way to an invisibility on
top of the rocks. Ignore the flame-throwers for now and cross the moving green platforms
instead. Straight ahead you'll find a save point and some odd-looking stars. There are
actually invisible platforms here. The stars mark the corners of each platform, so use
them and sidestep (so you don't fall off accidentally) and jump when necessary to a
"DO NOT PRESS" switch. Hit it and collect the power-ups on your way back to
solid ground. Head up the ramp and this time go right. Do not kill the Pear Troop who is
innocently walking towards that giant door. He will open the door and take a seat on the
dunny. Savor the moment for a bit, then blast his head off and grab five extra lives
before heading back across the moving platforms to the flame-throwers you saw earlier.
Jump or time your way past the flame-throwers to find the switch for door #3. Take a small
leap of faith into the hole here and you'll find a bouncy tile underneath so you can grab
the health pill. Now head back to the start of the level and door #3.
Episode 2: Uranian Spaceport Continued:
Jump across the bouncy tile, up the crates, and past another bouncy tile, taking care of
enemies as you go. You'll find a map tile and invisibility off to the left. Grab them and
head back down the main path. Across a pair of bouncy tiles is the switch for tube #4. Hit
it and bounce up to the full health on the roof if you want. Now head into tube #4 where
things start hotting up.
Tube #4:
First things first, save your game behind the tube you just came up because you are almost
sure to die here a couple times. Now very carefully cross the spinning green platform tube
- this isn't as easy as the last one, SO Plan in advance as much as you can and watch out
for two robots near the end. On the other side hit the map tile and then hop aboard the
moving green platform. Soon you'll be back at the spinning tube, only this time you have
to jump across the top of it. Use the same crazy lumping skills that got you across the
pipe the first time to make it to the babe. You're right back by the entrance again, so
just jump back over and take the tube back to area 3.
Continue past the switch you used to open tube #4 and head down to a new area. Blast the
red crates so you can climb over the giant wall and fall down the other side. After you
dispatch a few nasties you should find the exit switch; grab the two power-ups on top of
and behind the wall next to it, then hit the switch and head all the way back to the
starting intersection.
Remember the exit you saw way back at the beginning of the level? Head back there and
cross these green bouncy platforms hidden in a corner. Cross them to another map tile and
continue across some moving tiles to a final bouncy red pad. Bounce way up on that and ...
a boss! Your best bet is to hug the inside circle and try to stay on the opposite side of
the hole to keep this bad boy from mowing you over. Don't stop moving and keep steady fire
on him until he goes up in smoke. Flip each of the four switches here for the final babe!
Now go back to the exit area and across these three bouncing pads in the opposite corner
you came from, leading to another large stack of crates. Watch out for enemies - they
really start to get thick here. Make the long jump across to the other wall of crates and
you'll see some new yellow crates - these fall after you step on them, but both of them
hide extra men. After you make them fall, slowly back off the edge to hang down and grab
the 1-ups. Continue on past the flame-throwers and across a few more moving platforms to
the exit.
Episode 3: Uranian Spaceport:
You start this level on a spinning platform with four different-colored ways to go - take
the blue path first. At the top you will find a switch for door #1, but you need to hit
switch #2 to make it past those smashing machines. Take the green path next, up and
around, grabbing a map tile on your way until you find the #2 switch. Hit it and return to
the top of the blue path and past the squishers. After a series of crates you'll find your
first babe.
Rescue her quickly and then destroy the two monster generators at the corners of the
platform. Take the circular platform up, and continue until you come to another switch.
Rescue the second and last babe for this level and activate switch #3 nearby. Notice the
exit sign close by and remember this area - you'll be back for it later.
Take the circle platform down to switch #3 and climb back up the crates to return to the
start of the level. This time head up the orange path and hit the #4 switch at the top,
then head up the red path and through the newly opened door at the top. Continue along
until you find switch #5. Activate it and return back to the top of the orange path where
you can now get past the smashing machines.
Soon you should find another "Do Not Press" button - hit it to turn invisible
and continue up the crates after it. The next "Do Not Press" switch just makes
your head bigger - hit if you like, but be sure to find the switch at the very top of the
crates to start the platform tube spinning. Across it there are more crates and a very
nastily hidden save spot. Take the circular platform down and grab all the power-ups you
can before entering that warp chamber, since it leads right to a boss.
This boss actually isn't that tough; just keep sidestepping left and right and don't get
caught on any corners and you'll do fine. After you defeat him, follow the moving
platforms to the exit switch and hit it. Check behind the exit switch for more star
platforms. Climb up the invisible staircase for some power-ups and a save point. Now take
the small platform near the exit switch back down, past the #2 switch stomping machines,
past the crates and all of that, to the exit you saw before. Go past a few more smashing
machines and you'll find the E-pod and end of the level.
Episode 4: Uranian Dunes:
Ah, you made it to Uranus. Finally some room to manoeuvre! These next few levels are quite
a bit different to what you are used to - make sure to check your map often since it's
easy to get lost. Follow the path over the waterfall & into a large lake. You can't
get past the underwater grate here yet, so hit the map tile & climb up on dry land.
Across a series of floating platforms, a little into the level, you will see a rock with
the number 1 on it. Make a mental note of it & continue on, soon you should find a
seesaw looking rock - you need to push the large rock on the platform above down to
activate it. Once you have, you can cross the tarpits on this dark rock. Follow the
islands to the first switch & backtrack to that first rock you saw with the 1 on it,
for it's now moving up & down. Guarding the first babe is an armoured turret. Hold
down fire & release to destroy it with power blasts. The second babe is stranded on
top of a small island in the tarpits, carefully time your way along the platforms to save
her. This switch lowers the ledge with the giant ant markings & lets you into Episode
5. Head there now & jump across the lowered dark stone to enter.
Episode 5: Uranian Dune:
This is a fairly short and simple level. There's not much to say here until the road
splits: Take the low road first, grab the power-ups, then double back up the high road for
a map point and save spot. You'll find the one and only babe for this level just up ahead.
Next you will face the boss ant, the trick here is to run back down the path you came from
and attack it from afar. Remember to use power blasts, since normal fire will just bounce
right off him. Once you've destroyed the boss, keep jumping and blasting until you find
and activate switch #3, then continue on to exit back out into episode 4.
Episode 4: Again:
Head back up the 1 rock and this time cross the long ledge to the right, followed by a
series of difficult lumps over the tar pit. Don't take the next ledges you see up ahead
just yet - first find switch #2 at the end of the island chain in the river there.
Continue in that direction to find a save spot, a map tile, and the third babe but don't
hit the button. Now double back and head up those ledges until you reach a small clearing
with a lake. Might be a good idea to save first, then activate the switch to open the
underwater gate and dive in to episode 6.
Episode 6: Depths of Uranus:
Avoid those mines and surface the first place you can to find this level's first babe
right out in the open! Pretty easy, eh? Well just wait.... Head back under and swim
through the stone gateway. The next area you can surface in will have a branch off to the
left - don't take it yet, just continue straight on. Soon you'll come to a room with the
#4 switch underwater. Hit it and surface. Find the map tile and save the game before
continuing on land to the second and final babe for this level. Jump back into the water
and continue until you exit back into episode 4 at a new location.
Episode 4: Again:
Climb the rocks directly around the pond for a bunch of power-ups, then make your way down
the large cliff. Find the giant chicken in the nearby desert - hop on him and use his
extra high jump to reach the floating island with the map tile, close to where you came
down from the cliff. Follow the island chain, past some really nasty bad guys, to the
fourth babe. Once you have her it's time to head all the way back to switch #1 - now that
you've hit all the switches the rocks are filled in and you can climb the mountain. Take
the narrow path off to the left to find babe number 5, then double back and head down the
other side of the mountain to find the final babe. You're all done. Head down the long
canyon to a clearing and a boss, Sheik Raghhkk De Cassbah!. This guy has lots of different
attacks. Use rapid fire shots to take out his heat seeking missiles and the chickens he
tosses at you, but don't stop dodging until he's dead. Remember, only saved up super
blaster shots can hurt him.
Episode 7: Alienville:
First find the save point and exit in the back of the starting room before you head into
the level. Three doors branch out of this large circular room, for obvious reasons head
through the arch marked 1 first. Go past the left side of the first spinning wheel of
death, then right, then left on the last one, Follow the platforms and soon you will come
to an easy mini boss attack saucer. Take him out and find the switch here.
Once you hit the switch you can leave, or you can kill all the enemies around for some
power ups and extra men. Kill enough enemies here and an invincibility will appear so you
can grab those power ups in the lava. In any case, when you are done, head back to the
intersection, make sure to grab the instant alien generator power-up (the Xenomatik) that
was under glass in the middle of the circle, and take door #2.
Wait until the giant fans slow down to pass them, and continue down the corridor. After
another spinning wheel you will face Tiny, the snarf. Now use that instant alien generator
(if you died on the way you will have to go back to the big circle room and grab another).
While Tiny is chowing down on the alien you made, run as fast as you can into the giant
rocket to find the jetpack. Use it to grab the babe way up at the very top of the rocket
and find this room about halfway up the rocket for heaps of goodies before heading back to
the circle intersection room and down corridor #1 again.
Fly back up to the room at the end of corridor #1 to find a giant eye/saucer boss - use as
many of the sub-weapons around that you can, and he should be no problem. Once he is dead,
fly up a little higher to find another babe, and hit switch #3 here before heading back.
Jetpack your way through the spinning fans in the newly opened corridor #3 until you reach
the Funk Hut. The door is closed with a four on it, so fly straight up to the top of the
building and find the #4 switch and a babe. Don't touch either of the "DO NOT
TOUCH" buttons here. Blasto gets smashed if you do. His vision gets swimmy and your
controls get all messed up until you press the other one. Head into the Funk Hut instead
and find the final babe and the exit switch. Now all that's left is to fly back to the
start of the level and exit.
Episode 8: Spire Maze:
The idea for this stage is to get the jetpack, grab the babes & get out of there.
First you need to find the jetpack, so head straight across the islands, blasting the long
thin ledges at their edges to move them into position as necessary. As you go along you
will notice a chain of islands branching off to the right - ignore it & continue
straight ahead. Many of the islands have lower levels - you can risk them now for a few
power ups or come back later when you have the jetpack. Eventually you should reach
another attack saucer mini-boss. This guy likes to drop a particularly nasty bomb on
whatever island you are on, so be sure to keep moving between islands while fighting him.
Once you beat him, grab the jetpack.
If you want to save all the babes, find the first 5 before passing this second mini-boss
that you should remember from earlier on. If you want to kill him, fly back when he
appears & kill him, otherwise, just fly past. After that, all you have left is the
long climb to the end of the level. Use the 3 babes you find along the way to refill your
health & jetpack as you go, & just keep flying up. Eventually the terrain will
level out as you enter episode 9.
Episode 10: Alien Ruins:
Head to your right once you get to the first clearing in this level & across a sinking
platform - get ready to fight. Once you have defeated all of the enemies here, some
power-ups should appear close to the map tile. Grab the invincibility & run down the
narrow hallway just to the right of where you entered the room. Run across the lava to the
right & jump on the series of platforms there. Carefully (The last platform sinks)
over to the switch & press it. Use the moving platforms to return the way you came.
Straight back through the room with the map tile & out the other side you should pass
a large steel door with the number 1 on it - remember this spot for later. Continue
straight past 3 sinking platforms & the road will fork - go left. Keep going straight
until you can't anymore, then turn right. You'll pass a save spot on your right & come
up to a series of platforms. Take the moving platform on the left over for the first babe.
Now backtrack all the way to the first fork in the road where you made a left, this time,
go right & down a curving slope. Follow it down until you reach another fork in the
road - go right. Go straight until you see lava & jump across the platforms here &
flip that #1 switch. Grab the babe close by, hopping across another series of platforms
before returning all the way back to that steel #1 door earlier in the level, which is now
open. Flip the #2 switch on the right side of the room to create a platform & rescue
the final babe.
Next head back down the sloping curve & this time go left at the fork. Grab the
invincibility on your way & use it to walk across the next stream of lava for a map
tile & some goodies. Cross a few more sinking platforms & you'll come to a large
clearing - flush out all the bad guys & patiently cross the lava on the other side.
You'll find a whole slew of power-ups & the entrance to the sewers - dive in!
Episode 11: The Sewers:
This level is almost entirely underwater - remember to watch your air supply & refill
with bubbles as needed. Also, never stop moving when you are passing mines, or the fish
will have tiny Blasto bits to eat. There are no babes on this level to rescue & it is
pretty small, so hopefully you can make it through quickly. Ignore the tube branching off
at the start of the level & continue straight down for a map tile so you can get your
bearings. Once you reach the large diamond shaped room on the map, swim through the east
tube & follow it around until you reach the white square area on the upper right. swim
all the way up there & you will surface next to the #4 switch & a save spot.
Back in the water, double back the way you came & swim down where those white grates
used to be. follow the tubes into a large circular area with a ton of mines, & swim
up. Keep going the only way you can, & soon you will reach the exit back into episode
9.
Episode 9 (Again):
Back in the main hall, the door to the right is now open. Grab the Xenomatik power-up from
the same ledge where you got it before & head down to another lave moat area. Repeat
the same steps you did on the other side of the level to have an alien flip the switch
here, & continue past it into episode 12.
Episode 12: Alien Ruins:
Ride the moving island at the start of the level across the lava & continue along the
platforms until you are on solid ground again. Take out a few enemies & grab the
invisibility that appears before you head further into the level. Soon you'll come to a
large clearing with lots of paths branching off & even more enemies. Clear out all the
bad guys & head down the first hall to the right of the one you came in from (Use the
map if you forget which one that was). Follow the path down, destroying enemies, &
continue straight until you come to the first babe. save her & follow the path behind
her - watch out for 2 turrets (One on your left & the other straight ahead) in the
next area. Destroy them & use the invincibility that appears to grab all the power-ups
in the neighbouring lava lake.
There are 2 exits to this room - take the one in the southwest corner & go straight
until you come to another sinking-platforms lava room with a switch. Carefully make your
way to the switch & activate it, then head back the way you came & head down the
first path branching off to your right. Another invincibility will appear once you destroy
the turret here - use it to grab a couple of extra lives hidden nearby at the dead ends of
lava stream & continue the way you were headed when you're done. After another large
clearing filled with bad guys & a series of jumps over small lava streams you should
come to a four-way intersection with a sinking platform at the center. Some large steel
doors were here before, but the switch removed them, so you are now free to pass.
Head south, past a save point, & hop across the islands to your right to the second
babe (Watch out for 2 elite guards next to her). Now head up the path opposite the islands
you just crossed & face 2 turrets for a map tile, an invincibility pill, & some
health. There are plenty of those nasty turrets around - destroy them all & grab the
power-ups left in their wake. When & if you come up to the 'big alien' sign, do not
continue - there is another snarf up there & he will have you for breakfast. You will
come back for him, the final babe, & the last switch later.
Episode 12: Alien Ruins (Continued):
For now, head back to that 4-way intersection, & this time head north down the last
unexplored path of the level. After a few more turrets you will come to a large lava room
with no apparent platforms to cross on; shoot at the small girders sticking out from the
walls on either side of the room to knock them down & carefully jump across them to a
teleporter back to episode 9.
Episode 9 (Again):
Make sure the first thing you do is destroy the red crate here & push the green one
over the edge to the white chalk outline below. Once you do, you have a staircase back to
the upper part of the level & a few more extra lives. Back on the upper platform,
circle around & follow the stairs back to the front of the fortress. When the road
splits at the top of the stairs, head right; to the left is a locked door you need to open
with the #6 switch.
Wait until the timing is right to cross the lava room on the rotating platforms, then
continue straight in the next area (Past a door to your left) to a door on the opposite
side. Conveyor belts! Jump across & blast the baddies (Easier said than done) to find
the one & only babe for this episode. Now double back & try that door you skipped
before.
Blast all the red crates in this room & push the green crate into position on the
right side of the room by the 'Harem' sign to create a staircase. (Don't get excited - the
Harem isn't open yet) At the top of the crates you will finally find the ultimate One Shot
Mega-Blast (TM). Guess what you have to do now? Believe it or not, you have to run all the
way back to your old buddy the snarf in episode 12 & use the Mega-Blast to kill him.
That's right. You have to make it there without dying once and without grabbing any other
sub-weapons along the way. If you mess up, it's all the way back to grab the Mega-Blast
and try again. Woohoo! Hopefully it won't take too many tries before you can make it to
the snarf, destroy him, and you can finally cross to the final babe and switch here. Now
go back to the teleporter to episode 9, up the stairs at the front of the fortress, and
this time head left, or, if you have saved all the babes in the whole game, head back to
the harem for a little action! The girls get so carried away Blasto loses his pants!
Episode 12: Alien Ruins (Continued):
Ok, anyway, through the previously locked #6 door it's more conveyor belt fun. (You should
save your game before entering this room if you want to fight your evil clone and enter
the warp room; see the optional section below for more details.) Jump from belt to belt
until you make it to the crates on the other side. Climb the crates and kill all the
enemies in the first room to your right. Grab the invincibility, then head back to the
hallway you came in from and go through the last door there into another conveyor belt
room. Make it across and through the door on the other side, through a room with four
rotating platforms and the next room with three sets of them and some other fun lava
jumping, and you will finally make it to episode 13.
The Evil Blasto Clone & Warp Room - Optional:
This section of the level is completely optional but isn't too hard to get to and is
definitely worth the trouble in my opinion. Did you notice how the platform below the
invincibility sank a bit when you stepped on it? And how there is that flashing platform
in the same room with a door on the other side you can't reach? Here is what you have to
do - restore an old saved game from earlier in episode 9 and grab the Xenomatik from that
same trusty ledge where you found it twice before. Now head all the way across the
conveyors and back to that room without dying or grabbing another sub-weapon to create an
alien on both of the sinking platforms here. Once you have, the flashing platform will
drop to where you can reach it. Now kill the two aliens you created to raise the platform
again, and jump for the door on the other side - voila!
Here you must face your dark side - the Evil Blasto Clone. (Da da da dum!) Use the same
strategies on him you would any other tough monster - constant sidestepping and firing.
He's not very tough - just make sure to grab all the sub-weapons as they appear because he
can use them too! Once he is beaten you get a whole bunch of extra men, a save spot, tons
of power-ups, and unlimited access to the warp room. You can come here any time you like
(via the pause menu) and warp to any level in the game - except the final boss. Not bad,
eh? Beats the hell outta seeing Blasto in his underwear at least....
Episode 13: The Final Confrontation:
Ok, this is it - the final showdown with Bosc. In his first giant robot form, stay close,
but not so close that he stomps on you, and sidestep to avoid his missiles while you blast
him. There are plenty of sub-weapons around so don't be stingy dishing it out. Once the
robot is destroyed, the ground explodes into some jagged rocks in lava, and Bosc attacks
in his giant disembodied head-ship. Run around and grab all the power-ups (including an
invincibility) and fire all the super-blasts and sub-weapons you can. Sidestep to dodge
his lasers and watch for the missiles he fires when he swoops in. Defeat him, and you've
done it! Sit back and enjoy the show - it's even slightly different if Blasto is in his
underwear!
Game Over
